Self Reflection
I liked designing these characters, especially having the freedom to create characters who aren't only humanoid. This was my first time designing a character and being able to include my passion for sea creatures gave me confidence that I could do this task to the best of my ability.
Based on my submission, I feel that next time I could improve my shading and try illustrating without line art. The design for the snail character does not look as easy on the eyes as the other characters, I think that I could try to add more human features to make it looks better.

Rationale
I designed my characters based off of the sea creatures
that I am most interested in. The first character has the characteristics of
different types of jellyfish. For the purpose of anthropomorphism, I gave her
eyes. I colour picked the colours from an actual jellyfish.
The second character is a squid, more specifically a giant squid. I
turned its eight arms into its legs that it walks on and its two tentacles are
used as arms. This character is also coloured using the colours of an actual
giant squid.
My last character is designed to
be a sea snail. It is not accurate to a real sea snail but it has features
that some species of snails do. It has a marlinspike shell to give a more
ocean vibe but the colours are inspired from a regular snail. She has moss as
hair and much bigger eyes so that she looks more like a character and not just
an animal.
