Task 3 Recap
Develop and refine the idea that proposed and chosen in Task 2. Based on that idea, create a design of our own. Apply our knowledge of design principles in the idea development and final design. Use any medium and/or materials, except for full photography, that are suitable to convey their final visual message.
Final Design

My final design is a digital collage titled Raajjeyge Raagu. The title is in
Dhivehi, and loosely translates to “Maldives’ Vibes”, although the exact meaning
in Dhivehi is a little more nuanced than that because in this context the word
“Raagu” is hard to translate exactly to English. Since the original artwork I
picked in the beginning was about France, and the area the artist lived in, I
thought to recreate it for the place I am from, the Maldives. Hence why, the
architecture in the centre of the design is a historical monument called the
Hukuru Miskiy, and the elements used are all things the Maldives is known for,
its beautiful ocean, the coconut palm trees, and the sandy beaches.
There
are two main design principles that can be observed in my design work, balance
and movement. The elements in the design have been placed in such a way that one
side/area of the canvas does not feel more cluttered than the other, creating
balance. And I used a gradient with ocean water texture for the background that
will direct the viewer’s focus from the top of the canvas to the bottom, which
is movement in a design.
Feedback
Week 7
Add something more to the background because it looks a bit plain as just one solid colour, maybe a gradient or a texture.
Week 8
Did not take feedback.
